What I'm Using Now

What I'm using now

I haven't done a post like this since 2010! Since a lot of the products I use have changed drastically since then, I figured I'd post an update. So, here it is...what I'm using now.

Shampoo and conditioner
Abba Moisture Shampoo and Conditioner leaves my hair soft and shiny, and smells so good. Very refreshing and all natural!

Styling products
Redken 11 is my favorite heat protectant. I also really like Redken 22 for a heat protectant with a little hold. It holds a curl AWESOMELY even with my fine hair.

Shower Gel
My shower gel choices vary in scent but they're always Ulta Smoothies.

Body Moisturizer
Eucerin body lotion and Dermadoctor KP Duty for dry skin are both awesome body lotions. The Dermadoctor is definitely better though.

AVON Cool Confidence Roll-On, just like before. I've actually been using this for years. YEARS.

Fake Tan
I don't do fake tanning often but when I do I prefer one that's instant and washes off at the end of the day if I want it to. Tarte Maracuja Rainforest Glow Instant Matte Waterproof Body Perfector is perfect for that. It'll actually stay on for a few days if I don't purposely scrub it off.

Benefit Foamingly Clean Face Wash (with my Clarisonic Mia)'s just the best. My face feels so clean after I cleanse with it.

Eh...none. I'm not a toner kinda girl.

I love Philisophy Microdelivery Exfoliating Wash. I use it once a week, maybe a little less often. I don't really exfoliate much. This stuff is great though. It's gentle but super smoothing.

The Philosophy Oxygen Peel is awesome. My face just feels so clean afterwards.

The Oxygen Peel is like a mask so let's go with that one again.

None. serum for me.

Benefit Total Moisture Facial Cream. So so moisturizing OMG. Ever since I started using this, my skin has felt amazing.

Benefit Stay Flawless 15-hour primer is great for oily areas but as my skin is changing, I only need to use this on my nose. I also really like misting my face with Urban Decay De-Slick Setting Spray before and after I apply my foundation. It works wonders!

There are a few that I really like and they're all totally different from my old love, MAC Studio Fix Fluid. My current favorite is the 3-in-1 foundation by CK One (in Sand)...sheer natural coverage that lets my freckles show through. I also love Tarte Amazonian Clay Foundation (Medium Sand) for full coverage; it wears amazingly on oily skin. However, since my skin isn't quite as pily as it used to be, Exuviance Skin Caring Foundation (Blush Beige) is another one that I'm loving right now (LOVING). The coverage is light to medium and can build fuller if needed. Plus, it looks totally natural; like my skin, but better.

CK One Mousse Concealer is lovely. It covers nicely but is such a lightweight formula that it just doesn't crease (total miracle for me!). I set it with a powder that's lighter than my skin for that bright, highlighted look (MAC Mineralize Skinfinish in Light).

Bare Minerals Pressed Tinted Mineral Veil (Medium) is my current face powder love. It's sheer, matte, and definitely gives some extra wear time to my makeup. I also really like using just a touch of Bare Minerals Original Foundation (Medium Beige) to set my foundation. I take very little and buff it over my face for a bit of a glow.

Hahaha! My favorite blush. This is funny...says the girl with 30+ blushes.

My all-time favorite is Benefit Hoola Bronzer. It's just the perfect color. However, since this is about what I'm using right now, that would be the NYX Matte Bronzer in Medium. It's just a tad bit more red-toned as opposed to the neutral brown that Hoola is. Hoola is the best but NYX is definitely a cheaper alternative.

Again with the silly questions. I love highlighters so much. I don't really have a favorite that I use regularly. I suppose though that lately I've been going between my MAC Extra Dimension Mineralize Skinfinish (MSF) in Definitely Defined, MAC Lightscapade MSF, and Bare Minerals Pure Radiance.

Eyeshadow Primer/Base
I'm still using Too Faced Shadow Insurance. Best. Ever.

Really? REALLY? I can't with this one. I love them all...use them all...I suppose that the one that I use daily is wet n wild's eyeshadow single in Brulee. I use it as my browbone and inner corner highlight daily. The rest of my shadows change from day to day.

I've been going between three different liners depending on the day. Lorac Front Of The Line Pro liquid liner is fabulous. I have all three colors but I mostly use the brown. For pencils I'm an Urban Decay girl. Nothing beats their 24/7 liners. I use the pencils almost daily...different colors depending on the day. I've also been using Milani Shadow Eyez Eyeshadow Pencils a lot for eyeliner lately. They're crazy long-lasting on the eyes.

Shu Uemera. I've been using t for a while. Honestly it's just average to me but it's what I have.

Benefit Bad Gal Waterproof Mascara is my everyday (and favorite mascara EVER).

Salon Perfect Demi Wispies, now, forever, and always. I buy the 4-pack at Wal-mart for about $8. Such a good deal!

Lately I've been loving CK One lipstick in Liplock. Definitely a current favorite of mine. The others that I've been wearing a lot are CK One Spiked, and MAC Syrup, Dare You, and Media.

I'm not really in a gloss mood at the moment but when I do wear it it's usually a Senna Lip Lacquer. Their lipgloses are by far the best I've tried.

Nail Colour
I'm a black nail polish lover so Milani Black Swift Fast Dry Nail Enamel is my go-to!

What are you using now?

  2. I dont have much time right now to write a lot of my blathering opinions,(my lil girl needs attention, lol), but when I logon again, I will explain in depth why I agree with this article.

  3. You know... I have Bad Gal Lash at home! It's such a great mascara, yet I've sort of forgotten about it! I must revive it from the depths of my mascara drawer <3

  4. I have been looking for the perfect winter blush shade, but I can't seem to find one that isn't ridiculously expensive! I don't mind spending about up to £8 so can you give me a few recommendations?
