Spring 2012 Eye Makeup Trends

Spring is officially here and with that comes some fabulously eye-catching makeup trends. Taking center stage this season are the eyes, adorned with sparkle, color, and some sexy smokiness. As you know, I love to do up my eyes. If you'd like to try the same, here are some tips and products to get you started.

Glitter can be done subtly or dramatic on the eyes. For something more understated, Urban Decay Heavy Metal Glitter Liner is an awesome choice. A thin line along the top lashline gives just a touch of sparkle. For those looking to go bold with their sparkle, loose cosmetic glitter like Glamour Doll Eyes Eye Lights applied to the lid and paired with matte eyeshadows to complete the look would be a total head-turner. To help the the glitter to stick and stay, apply a thin layer of Too Faced Glitter Glue first.

Adding a pop of color to the eyes is something that I'm always a fan of regardless of the time of year. This spring though is the perfect time to go for something brighter. Sugarpill Cosmetics has some of the most stunning bright eyeshadows ever. Their pressed eyeshadows are great if you prefer a matte or satin finish, while their loose eyeshadows have a stunning sparkle.

The beauty of the smokey eye trend is that it's so versatile. Any dark eyeshadow on the outer corner, lid, or smudged at your lashline would be great for creating a smokey eye. Alternatively you could smudge a dark eyeliner at your lashline. For a long-lasting smoked out lashline, try Milani Liquid Eye eyeliner pencil in black or brown. Apply the liner to your upper and lower lashlines, smudge, let it set, and you're good to go!
