For the longest time, I wanted to do a butterfly mask. When I received my Glamour Doll Eyes Halloween set, the colors were perfect for a monarch so I gave it a try!
Hope you enjoy! :)
Step-by-step:
First, I outlined the shape I wanted, as well as the design, with a black pencil liner. Next, I filled in all the predominantly black areas with a NYX Jumbo Pencil in Black Bean. For the orange areas, I filled them in with a NYX Jumbo in Orange. Using a black eyeshadow (GDE Urban Trash) I packed over the black areas of the wings. Over the orange, I applied an orange eyeshadow (GDE Orange Crush). Next, going back with some black eyeshadow and a flat liner brush, I re-emphasized the lines on the wings. For the body of the butterfly, I packed GDE Killer Edo (it has orange glitter in it!) over the black base. Using a bit of glitter (GDE Monster Mash) and a clear glitter adhesive from Sally's, I added a bit of sparkle over the black areas of the wings, as well as some rhinestones from the craft store.
On my lips, I applied NYX lip liner in Plush Red, followed by MAC Electro lipstick (an orange from last year's Neo-Sci Fi Collection).
